Day 1 – Read Outside! 🌤️
Grab a book and find a cozy spot outside like under a tree, on the porch, or in the grass! Read together and talk about what you see around you. Bonus: Find something in nature that matches something in your book! Day 2 – Silly Voice Day! 🎭 Read a book out loud using funny voices for each character! A deep voice for a bear, a squeaky voice for a mouse, go wild! Little ones will giggle and stay engaged the whole time. Day 3 – Draw What Happens! 🎨 Stop halfway through a book and grab some crayons or markers! Ask your child: "What do you think happens next?" Let them draw it out before you finish reading. Then see how close they were! This is great for little ones who aren't reading yet too, just look at the pictures and guess! Day 4 – Animal Book Day! 🐾 Head to the library or dig through your books at home and find one all about animals! It can be a silly story with animal characters OR a book with real animal facts. After reading, ask your child: "What's your favorite animal and why?" Day 5 – People & Places Day! 🌍 Read a book that takes you somewhere new, another country, another culture, or a family that looks or lives a little differently than yours. Talk about one thing that was the same as your family and one thing that was different. Every family is special! Day 6 – Family Story Night 🌙 End the challenge with a special reading night! Let your child pick 2 books. Snuggle up together, turn on a lamp, maybe grab a snack, and read both books. Celebrate finishing the whole challenge! 🎉 |
